As the Vicdan Foundation, we continue to strengthen social conscience and encourage exemplary behaviors based on human values. In this context, we select a behavior that stands out as the "Exemplary Behavior of the Week" as a result of the evaluations we conduct among our volunteers every week. This week, we deemed Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu's solution proposal for stray animals worthy of this title.
Beşikçioğlu, as the municipality administration, has taken an innovative approach to protect stray animals and provide them with better living conditions. It is planned to assign guard duties to stray animals in existing municipal facilities, especially in technical works, parks and gardens, truck parking lots and social facilities. This proposal both ensures that these animals are sheltered safely and increases the security of these facilities. This solution is considered a big step in terms of integrating stray animals into society and protecting their right to life.
Mayor Beşikçioğlu stated that the previous expenses and the activities of the veterinary directorate were examined transparently, demonstrating a correct and honest management approach. He also announced that cooperation will be made with the veterinary directorate for the training of stray animals. These steps aim to ensure that animals are included in society in a safe and healthy manner.
Beşikçioğlu's solution proposal is a beautiful example of how animals can be a part of social life by approaching them with love and respect. As the Vicdan Foundation, we are proud to choose this behavior as the exemplary behavior of the week. We hope that such conscientious and humane approaches will increase in society and we call on all municipalities to follow this exemplary behavior.
